Safeguarding
In respect of safeguarding JenKin Support Services fully recognises and uphold its responsibilities in this regard. All staff receive safeguarding training which raises awareness to this and allows for the enforcement of our safeguarding duties in protecting the young people in our care. Our focus is to ensure each young person is safe from abuse and does not pose a risk to themselves and to the safety and well-being of others.
To this end, our team have a key role in identifying/recognising abuse and bringing it to the attention of responsible authorities. We are led by the guidelines set out by the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board.
Expectations
As highlighted throughout our communication our main aim is to foster stability, compassion and challenge. JenKin Support Service is tailored to prepare and equip young people for independence as such it is reasonable and in the interest of the young people that should our service be made aware of potential risky/antisocial behaviours that the young person should expect to face consequences which are true of the world in which they are being prepared for.
JenKin Support Services focus on empowering young people to develop their social, emotional, independence and functional skills, enabling them to acquire coping mechanisms for the future, and take steps towards resilience and wellbeing.
